haven't posted in week due to work and life...today was kind of interesting...ended up golfing in the rain and shooting my best hole ever....i'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't be golfing...although I didn't get into my groove until the 5th hole and rain...oh, well...

back from vaction earlier because of thunderstorms and we weren't going to deal with that in tent the size of our living room with four kids...on the upside, i got my golf on and only ended up in the pool twice immediately followed by hot tub time....very nice...going out and doing something tomorrow, either COSI (hands on science/industury museum) or Zoo, depending on weather...good to be home and on internet, tho.

in other news, i finished Lord of the Rings that I will invariably end up reading again...however, after plowing the 1st and 3rd books, really not in mood (bought 2nd years ago by mistake and read it this spring after seeing Fellowship of the Ring)

got off at three today (good), off tomorrow (better), running away on vacation until monday (best)...planning on doing not much of anything...golf and lazing and sadly getting dragged into pool at least once...
one week since my last post mostly because of work and secondily because of brother-in-law's surprise birthday party on saturday which consumed the whole week end...it was more fun finishing the keg (miserable failure with 2 or 3 gallons left of beer) than the actually the party mostly because I was pretty ornery and exhausted sat after golf and work....

woo-hoo! golf saturday...which kinda makes up for work saturday and this crazy week....i've been looking foward to it all week and now it's offical...yea!

not much going on, work is more crazy than usual and i'm beat because i've slept like crap as of late...i hate low pressure/high pressure flipflops....kills my joints...and i flip flop all night...

Saturday, July 05, 2003

well, I finished 1 through 4 last night of Harry Potter and was pleasently surprised...though I must say I didn't expect the climax in the fourth one at all....

we had a weird fourth, having to cover for Anne while she went out of town and I had to go to a birthday party for a co-worker's daughter....after I got back from that, we put the kids to bed and lazed around until 10:30 when we finially got home....then today we went to a birthday party for one of Christa's professors' daughter....it was fun although I felt kinda out of place...everybody else being techies or of university background....

She's just jealous I read faster than her and she has a ton of reading to do...oh, well, I figured she'd be happy I quit floppping in front of computer every night..

Well this sucks. Adam has decided that he is going to read the Harry Potter Series. He started it on Friday(6/27/03) and is now currently in the Fourth book.... Yeah, that is right... he has read approxiamately 800 pages or so in the last four days. And he didn't get a chance to do any reading on Saturday. Plus, 8 hours at work on Monday and today. So you do the math... I and the girls have gotten ignored for the last four days. However, on a brighter note... the kids that Ann is babysitting like him. Especially the baby, Kay. She is one year old and sat in his lap for over an hour, perfectly content to watch him read.... weird eh? Oh well hopefully he finishes them soon so that I can go back to getting attention ;)

I think it is a diversionary tactic on his part so that he doesn't miss his best friend. He has been gone to Vegas for four days now. But we do know that he safely got there.

not much going on, just work and life...my best friend is moving to Las Vegas finially, although it's going to suck not to see him anymore...this week has just been work interspersed with life...not much else going one....I am glad it's summer and I don't have to deal with school anymore although I keep thinking I need to be doing something with my time. Maybe I should try and work the book I've always wanted to write although I don't have a plot, characters, or even some situations that I want to write about...that and I always keep thinking I should work on my programming/Linux skills but never feel like messing with it after working all day. It seems like I never get anything done or started or finished, all I seem to manage to do is go to work and come home...it sucks...

really important, unimportant stuff here....I think I have achieved the zen of journal....it's time for bed...

Friday, June 20, 2003

sitting at home and feeling slightly bored...once again I've gotten home and nobody's here (which sucks) although today that's because we had a meeting most of today and only got half an hour lunch...we're going out with matt from work and his girlfriend tonight at 7....other than that I haven't done much of anything this week although I desperately need to go to the driving range....I think I may go golfing with my dad tomorrow but I haven't decided...

Tuesday, June 17, 2003

I had a couple of things I wanted to post about and they've flown out of my head...I need to jot this stuff down or something....I hate that...I do know that curved stairs are evil...a pox on whoever thought it was a good idea to have one from the first floor to the fourth floor....ugh...

The cat has the right idea... stretched out and passed out on the couch...this weekend was pretty relaxing. Went and saw Matt from work drum at the Strawberry Festival on Friday. I golfed with my Dad on Saturday and shot 90 on 9 holes...it was pretty bad...between my driving and my putting (and the fact I lost two balls)...I really, desperately need to get to the driving range before we go again. Today, we went up to her parents for a cookout for Father's Day...the really annoying thing was getting home at 10 but, oh, well, not much I could do about it...it's time for bed, me thinks...

so much for the count down of dread, the reunion has been cancelled due to lack of interest...7 out of 154 people responded...

my weekend just got a whole lot freer, now I dunno what we're going to do...

Sunday, June 08, 2003

ready to pass out right now, although it's due to wisky and beer rather then just being worn out...which should be some kind of consultation condsidering last night we both ended up passing out downstairts (her on the couch, me on the recliner). Begining coutdown of dread to high school reunion...

Friday, June 06, 2003

sipping single malt scotch and chillin' on the couch...it's been a long day after work and then softball at 7 (watching Jay play)...I'm the mood for a cigar but not motivated to drag myself outside or allowed smoke in the house...bother...

chip, the man who links to everything, had a link in one of his posts to Something Positive...a very warped and a wickedly funny web comic...

since I've posted, I've put 500 miles on my car, gotten my motorola v.66, and pretty much have our vacation plan which is spread out over six days and three states...I'm looking foward to doing it although tent camping seems a little daunting. Basically, we're going to two six flags in New York, seeing Niagra Falls, going to the Six Flags in Springfield, Massachusetts, and then coming home (stopping in Brockway, PA where my Dad grew up and a lot of family still lives)...we came up with this while driving back from Zanesville on Saturday from my cousin's graduation (420 of the 500 odd miles). The rest of it I put on going out to pay matt for internet service...that was cool, hanging out and all...which we haven't done in forever between my schedule and his schedule (first) and the fact he's moved 40 miles away (second)...we used to go for a walk once a week or so, and I think it helped keep us both grounded...at the very least, the company was good and I got to smoke a cigar...oh, well, I guess that's life (things changing)
